Millworks Driver

PARR is a leading provider of home building supplies, solutions, and services. We are seeking a skilled Millworks Driver to join our team.

The Millworks Driver will be responsible for safely and efficiently loading and unloading building materials from commercial motor vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a Class C License, a clean driving record, and excellent communication skills.

• Loading and unloading building materials from commercial motor vehicles
• Legally and safely traveling to destinations through public and private roads
• Completing mileage and fuel usage reports
• Demonstrating commitment to on-time and in-full deliveries
• Following delivery procedures by taking photos of delivered shipments after completing each delivery
• Performing daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of all equipment
• Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with customers, contractors, and vendors
• Performing required safety audits of vehicles and promptly reporting any malfunctioning equipment
• Promptly reporting all accidents/incidents
• Annually updating driver's qualification files as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
• Maintaining yard, warehouse, and vehicle cleanliness during the course of work
• Finding productive work to do in downtime
• Keeping trucks supplied, organized, and clean
• Coming to work professionally attired
• Checking loads for accuracy
• Proactively managing job site conditions for next deliveries and communicating with others
• Always providing required paperwork and scanning for dispatch
• Seeking to learn products and their applications for end-users
• Learns and follows established best practices
• Learns from mistakes and accepts coaching as opportunities
• Demonstrating legal and thorough knowledge of tie-down rules and regulations
• Understanding weight, height, and length limits
• Ensuring that all material transported on the truck has either an invoice or Material Returns Form
• Continuing to participate in training as available
• Learning best practices related to efficient loading, strapping, and driving

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Class C License
• Must be 21 years old or over
• Ability to speak, write, and read English required
• Current DOT Medical Card
• Acceptable driving record
• Knowledge of vehicle safety audits and reports of any malfunctioning equipment as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
• Open and transparent communication
• Familiarity with GPS devices or map applications
• Driving experience within 50-mile radius of primary location preferred

• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
• Must be able to work in an office environment
• Must be able to travel occasionally
