Job Title: Registered Dietitian

At the University of Maryland Medical System, we are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team. As a Registered Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing medical nutrition therapy to adult inpatients at high nutrition risk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform the nutrition care process, including nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring, and evaluation, specific to age and medical status.
  • Develop an interdisciplinary nutrition plan of care for patients, within a specialty population, and attend rounds.
  • Discuss plan of nutrition care with patient/and or family; electronically document nutrition plan of care and education provided.
  • Contribute to teamwork and achievement of department goals; attend staff meetings.
  • Provide education, training, and expertise as a professional resource to members of the healthcare team, as well as dietetic interns.
  • Attend and/or participate in various in-service, continuing education credits, and external training workshops, conferences and other relevant educational programs to maintain state licensure.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics or related field is required.
  • Registration by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Commission on Dietetics Registration (CDR) is required.
  • Current licensure in the state of Maryland as a Dietitian/Nutritionist is required.
  • Six months of experience as a clinical nutritionist in a hospital setting preferred.
