POSITION OVERVIEW
This role is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and enhancing technical support operations within the Back Shop sectors, including Structures, Avionics, Interiors, and Paint. The position emphasizes continuous improvement through process optimization, ensuring effective management of all hangar-related activities while providing leadership and operational excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reports directly to the Senior Manager of Technical Support, tasked with delivering technical assistance across Structures, Avionics, Interiors, Engineering, and Paint, while contributing to the development of On-the-Job Training (OJT) programs.
- Aids in the creation of OJT programs for Support Shops to guarantee that all technicians enhance their skills and provide substantial value.
- Supervises job instruction and monitoring initiatives for all personnel under the Technical Support domain.
- Formulates programs that promote a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving among all employees, ensuring that any abnormalities or non-conformities are promptly identified and addressed through established programs.
- Maintains the highest quality standards by ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational procedures.
- Effectively communicates departmental objectives, company policies, and procedural guidelines to all staff members.
- Ensures adherence to employment laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Manages productivity metrics and organizational outcomes for the designated area.
- Reviews Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accuracy at the required intervals.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electrical) or relevant experience in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO).
- Minimum requirement of an Airframe (A) license; A&P license is preferred.
Experience:
- Typically requires 2-4 years of experience in managing personnel.
- Proven experience in overseeing technical support functions related to company products and services.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of aircraft systems and structures (electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, communication, etc.).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with aircraft maintenance processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Knowledge of statistical techniques.
- Competence in people management, including HR guidelines and policies.
- Awareness of employment laws (including sexual harassment, disability, discrimination, and labor laws).
- Business acumen and competitiveness, focusing on innovation, customer service, growth, and creativity.
- Familiarity with Embraer products.
WORKING CONDITIONS / ENVIRONMENT / SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to work safely and professionally, adhering to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
