Job Overview
RTI International is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Associate to join our team as a Field Interviewer for the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH). This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a government-sponsored research study, making a significant contribution to the understanding of alcohol, tobacco, drug use, mental health, and other health-related issues in the United States.

About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for traveling frequently to selected locations to recruit study participants, making in-person contact with respondents to discuss the study, answer questions, and obtain participation. Key responsibilities include collecting confidential information and administering standardized questionnaires, managing administrative duties, transmitting data as scheduled, and safeguarding project-issued equipment and materials.

Requirements
To be eligible for this role, applicants must possess a High School Diploma or GED, effective communication skills through speech and listening, fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking, and a valid driver's license with a reliable personal automobile available for business use. Ideal candidates should also be comfortable using RTI-issued tablets, laptops, and other associated equipment, maintaining confidentiality, and working in various weather conditions and after dark.

Salary and Benefits
This part-time position offers a competitive hourly rate of $24.98, including a Health and Welfare stipend of $4.98 per hour. In addition to hourly pay, Field Interviewers are also eligible to receive pay for up to 10 holidays and annual vacation time payout, as well as access to an employee discount program and fully reimbursable travel time and mileage. The company also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, a health savings account (HSA), and access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
