DaVita Inc. - Patient Care Technician Job Description

DaVita Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our team in an outpatient dialysis center. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct Patient Care: Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment.
  • Technician Duties: Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
  • Building Long-Term Relationships: Develop strong relationships with patients who are suffering from end-stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times/week.
  • Education and Support: Educate patients on kidney dialysis-related topics and provide support to help them manage their condition.
Requirements:
  • Desire to Enter the Healthcare Field: A passion for caring for others and a desire to enter the healthcare field.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Comfort with Blood and Needles: Must be comfortable working around blood and needles.
  • Physical and Mental Ability: Must be physically and mentally able to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet.
