Job SummaryThe Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, and testing of mechanical components, systems, and equipment. This position requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, with expertise in design, prototyping, and evaluation of complex mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical components, systems, and equipment, including assembly and part drawings, and other required documentation.
- Train and mentor other engineers on mechanical design concepts, manufacturing techniques, and materials.
- Research and recommend new design tools and processes for the Engineering department.
- Review and improve departmental processes and policies related to product design and development.
- Develop multiple design concepts and present to peers.
- Work with Document Control to create a document package that specifies the complete design and implementation of a product.
- Confirm fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
- Generate testing and validation plans to ensure designs meet customer and Leviton requirements.
- Analyze current designs and products for improvements and/or troubleshooting.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- 5+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
- Extensive experience in mechanical design concepts and the manufacture of products.
- Extensive experience in 3D CAD and drafting (SolidWorks preferred).
- Experience with PC Board and electronics packaging preferred.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and validation testing methods preferred.
- Experience in consumer product design or Electro-mechanical device design.
