Position Overview

UNM Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support our Truman Health Services division. This role is a full-time day shift position.

*Sign-On Bonus - $2,000*

Salary Range: Minimum $38,521 - Midpoint $42,203*

*Compensation is based on total relevant experience.

*Salary is calculated based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) or 40 hours per week. For those working less than 40 hours/week, salary will be prorated accordingly.

Essential Qualifications for a Medical Assistant:

1. High school diploma or GED

2. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program with a Graduate Certificate

3. Current certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

4. BLS certification

Role Summary:

Under general supervision, the Medical Assistant will carry out a variety of administrative and clinical tasks within a UNMMG Ambulatory Clinic. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, direct patient interaction via phone or in-person, managing patient registration, confirming demographic information, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance benefits and eligibility, obtaining referrals and prior authorizations, performing patient check-in/check-out, and collecting co-payments. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will gather patient data and medical history while executing routine medical assistant duties.
