Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Systems Administrator to join our team at Roane County Schools. This role is pivotal in managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Windows Server Administration:
    • Manage, configure, and maintain Windows Server OS environments.
    • Oversee Active Directory, Group Policy, and other core Windows services.
  • Virtualization:
    • Administer and maintain Hyper-V virtual environments.
    • Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of virtualized systems.
  • Server Hardware Management:
    • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware.
    • Monitor hardware health and performance, and address any issues proactively.
  • Enterprise Mail Services:
    • Administer enterprise mail services, ensuring reliability and security.
    • Manage user accounts, distribution groups, and email policies.
  • Google Services Administration:
    • Manage and administer Google Workspace services for the organization.
    • Ensure seamless integration with other systems and services.
  • Microsoft Azure Administration:
    • Oversee the organization's Azure cloud infrastructure.
    • Manage cloud resources, security, and cost optimization.
  • Security Surveillance Administration:
    • Administer and monitor security surveillance systems.
    • Ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
  • System Monitoring:
    • Implement and manage system monitoring tools.
    • Proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact operations.
  • Enterprise Database Management:
    • Manage and maintain enterprise databases, ensuring data integrity and availability.
    • Optimize database performance and implement backup strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned

Recommended Skills:

  • Network Printer Management:
    • Manage and troubleshoot network printers and related services.
  • Linux Administration:
    • Administer Linux servers and services as required.
    • Ensure interoperability with Windows and other systems.
  • Networking:
    • Understand and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Work closely with network teams to ensure system connectivity and security.
  • Cybersecurity:
    • Implement and enforce cybersecurity best practices.
    • Monitor and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Mobile Device Management:
    • Manage and secure mobile devices within the organization.
    • Ensure compliance with corporate security policies.

Qualifications:

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead IT initiatives.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role.
  • Deep knowledge of Windows Server OS, virtualization, and enterprise IT environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Google Workspace.
  • Experience in database management and system monitoring tools.
