Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN), Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

At Sovah Health - Martinsville, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ICU environment. This includes:

  • Performing plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Documenting patient care given and monitoring patient condition.
  • Communicating patient status to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assigning priorities to patient problems and utilizing resources as dictated by acuity.
  • Assisting patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborating with the care team to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluating learning needs of patients and providing education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Working as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or a Compact State.
  • Have previous experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred).
  • Hold AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Obtain AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of employment.
