Job Title: Certified Dietary Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Dietary Manager to join our team at American Health Partners. As a key member of our food services team, you will be responsible for providing direct nutrition services to patients and ensuring that quality food service is provided at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with the facility's dietitian to implement recommended changes and assist in planning regular and special diet menus as prescribed by attending physicians.
  • Order, prepare, and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in accordance with portion control procedures and sanitary regulations.
  • Inspect special diet trays to ensure accuracy, portion control, and appealing layout, and evaluate kitchen and dietary areas for upkeep, supply control, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Recognize and respond to dietary emergencies, document observations, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Interpret department policies and procedures for employees, patients, families, visitors, and governmental agencies.
  • Assist in developing methods to determine quality and quantity of food served.
  • Assist and observe tray line, make purchases for select menus as applicable, and monitor meals.
  • Instruct and assist cooks as needed, attend and participate in patient feeding processes, and review menus prior to preparation of food.
  • Meet with dietary personnel to identify and correct problematic areas and improve services, ensure food service is properly maintained to meet the needs of patients, and assist with a plan of correction for dietary deficiencies noted during survey inspections.
  • Ensure compliance regarding safety and sanitation procedures, instruct and assist cooks/dietary aides as needed, and assist in orientation, training, and scheduling of employees as directed.
  • Document in medical records as needed, complete production sheets for the following day, and complete forms, reports, evaluations, studies, etc. to ensure control of equipment and supplies.
Requirements:
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all patient information and facility business.
  • Follow established universal precautions and isolation procedures.
  • Encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth, and interest in patients' personal and health care needs.
  • Successful completion of required training.
  • Handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Independent discretion/decision making.
  • Reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Dietary Manager Certification.
  • Associate's or higher degree in food service management or hospitality from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics.
