Financial Services Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Specialist to join our team at DeLeo & Company. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, financial statements, and other accounting documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and review of tax returns, monthly/quarterly write-up services, engagement documentation, and related reports.
  • Preparation and review of financial statements, consolidated statements, and various other accounting statements.
  • Review and verification of the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classification assigned to various records.
  • Conducting tax research, preparing projections, and complex entity and individual tax returns.
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing.
  • Bank/Credit Card Reconciliations.
  • Payroll Processing and Compliance.
  • Sales Tax Compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance.
  • Sufficient knowledge of accounting, tax standards, and general business concepts with the ability to interact with business owners and management.
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel (V-Lookup, Pivot tables, etc.), Adobe Acrobat, and database applications.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate well in both oral and written forms, work in a fast-paced, growing environment. Must possess problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and follow procedures.
  • Knowledge of A/P, A/R, and general accounting/bookkeeping.
  • Experience with CCH Axcess or Prosystem fx suite a plus.
  • 0-3 years of experience.
