Job Title: Lifeguard

Join our team as a Lifeguard at Sul Ross State University Alpine Campus. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of students, faculty, and staff while using our recreational facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide lifeguarding services during designated hours
  • Enforce pool rules and regulations
  • Respond to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary
  • Participate in regular in-service training sessions
  • Inspect equipment for damage and report malfunctions
Requirements:
  • Current First Aid & CPR & Lifeguarding certification
  • Leadership, public relation, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Deal courteously and consistently with all individuals
  • Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies
  • Exercise regularly to maintain fitness level
Additional Information:

Lifeguard training will be offered again in May. In order to take the training course, you must be able to pass the prerequisite swim test.

The Annual Security & Fire Safety Report is available online at https://srinfo.sulross.edu/udps. The report contains information regarding campus safety and security, including topics such as crime reporting policies, campus alerts, and fire safety procedures.
