Key Responsibilities

The Technical Project Manager plays a vital role within the project management team, collaborating closely with Project Managers, Software Project Managers, and Sub-Project Managers. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines to oversee the overall technical scope and ensure project validation.

  • Directs the technical design and integration processes to meet both BEUMER Group's standards and customer contractual obligations from project initiation to completion.
  • Facilitates communication and coordination with customers, stakeholders, and partners (including suppliers and consultants) regarding technical project elements.
  • Defines, organizes, and supervises system simulations and testing to guarantee compliance with contractual commitments.
  • Collaborates with the project manager to maintain clear and open communication regarding technical and commercial aspects of the project.
  • Manages technical interface components of the project, ensuring effective connections with clients and external suppliers.
  • Shares responsibility for project cost, timeline, and quality, evaluating the technical and financial implications of decisions made.
  • Works with the procurement team to create and review detailed purchase orders, ensuring technical specifications and scope are accurately defined.
  • Co-manages the requirements management process, focusing on technical requirements and ensuring traceability with stakeholders.
  • Analyzes requirements, formulates technical specifications, and assesses the impact of technical changes.
  • Leads the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of technical project risks.
  • Reviews technical documentation prior to submission for customer approval.
  • Participates in gate and sub-gate meetings to ensure the fulfillment of technical tasks and to gather lessons learned.
  • Contributes to the quality assurance of final operations and maintenance documentation provided to customer support.
  • Provides technical assistance on-site during installation, commissioning, and final testing phases.
  • Engages directly in the specification approval, design, production, installation, and commissioning processes throughout project execution.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Preferred undergraduate degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 10 years of combined experience in engineering, installation, commissioning, and testing of logistics or similar technology systems.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in leading project teams and coordinating with various project disciplines.

Certifications

  • PMP Certification is required or must be obtained within one year of employment.

Commitment

  • Ability to set and achieve goals, with a genuine concern for others and a strong desire to be part of a successful team.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as needed, potentially up to 50% of the time.
