Job Title: Production Operator

Michael Foods, Inc. is a leading food processing and distribution company with a strong presence in the egg products, refrigerated grocery, and potato products industries. We are seeking a skilled Production Operator to join our team at our Britt, Iowa facility.

Job Summary:

The Production Operator will be responsible for transferring edible liquid egg products to meet USDA and company specifications for final distribution. This role requires close attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate with the USDA to ensure all tanker cleaning and transfers of liquid egg products are completed in accordance with regulations.
  2. Inspect and document the physical condition of incoming tankers, including cleanliness, temperature, and smell.
  3. Take samples to the lab for testing and ensure accurate records are kept.
  4. Control the flow of egg products via computer panels and associated flow boards and piping.
  5. Set up transfers by hooking sanitized unloading hoses to the tail end of tankers and unload products to the proper silos or tanks.
  6. Ensure empty tanks and tankers are cleaned using the Clean in Place (CIP) System.
  7. Communicate with the Cooked Department regarding edible egg transfers.
  8. Assist in coordinating tanker shipments and controlling the bulk receiving of chemicals.
  9. Ensure general good housekeeping for the area and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Safety Regulations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-year experience in the Breaking Department with cross-training in the tanker bay area under close supervision.
  • Strong mechanical ability and good reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and have good communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. safely and follow Lock Out/Tag Out and Confined Space Entry procedures.

Working Conditions:

The Production Operator will work in a wet environment with changing temperatures, both indoors and outdoors. The ability to climb onto tankers using a safety harness and work with chemicals safely is required.
