Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Operator - Egg Processing Specialist to join our team at Michael Foods Inc. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe transfer of edible liquid egg products, while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with USDA and company regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the USDA to ensure all tanker cleaning and transfers of liquid egg products are conducted in accordance with regulations.
  • Inspect and document the physical condition of incoming tankers, including cleanliness, temperature, and smell.
  • Take samples to the lab for testing and ensure accurate documentation of results.
  • Control the flow of egg products via computer panels and associated flow boards and piping.
  • Unload products to the proper silo or tank, ensuring empty tanks and tankers are cleaned by the Clean in Place (CIP) System.
  • Communicate with the Cooked Department regarding edible egg transfers.
  • Mix liquid egg products with ingredients and assist in coordinating tanker shipments.
  • Control the bulk receiving of chemicals and ensure general good housekeeping for the area.
  • Monitor augers and machinery in the shell room, ensuring they are working properly.

  • Clean tankers and perform data entry and paperwork required for the position.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned, adhering to safe work practices, GMPs, and HACCP guidelines.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Prior experience in the Breaking Department with cross-training in the tanker bay area under close supervision.
  • Strong mechanical ability, good reading and writing skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with others, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the area.
  • Ability to work in a wet environment with changing temperatures, working indoors and out.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. safely and follow Lock Out/Tag Out and Confined Space Entry procedures.
  • Ability to climb unto tankers using a safety harness and work with chemicals safely.
  • Ability to obtain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification.
