Responsibilities
  • Prepare menu items to specification, including making prep recipes and labeling, dating, and refrigerating prepped items.
  • Perform opening, closing, and side duties, including setting up, stocking, and breaking down kitchen equipment and prep stations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and line, adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
  • Practice a sense of urgency and have excellent communication skills to work effectively with co-workers and Front-of-the-House staff.
  • Assemble orders, double-checking product quality and specifications.
  • Demonstrate impeccable product knowledge and be involved in handling re-cook, special prep, long ticket, and large party/voucher group procedures.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a kitchen environment.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Food safety certification program completion, if required by location.
Skills
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of organization, attention-to-detail, and sense-of-urgency.
  • Positive and friendly attitude toward guests and co-workers.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to move throughout the cafe during visits, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, etc., for extended periods.
  • Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
