Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of installation technicians to ensure efficient and effective installation of fiber optic networks.
  • Coach and evaluate the performance of field staff, providing guidance and support to improve their skills and productivity.
  • Coordinate scheduling and dispatch to ensure adequate staffing and efficient job routing.
  • Identify and address problem areas in the department, communicating with the Project Manager to implement solutions.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve team organization and productivity.
  • Assign duties and responsibilities to technicians, ensuring clear scope of authority and expectations.
  • Assist in recruitment and training efforts to build a skilled and motivated team.
  • Support warehouse and logistics operations as needed to ensure smooth supply chain management.
  • Establish and maintain operating standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
  • Track employee performance, tool assignments, and vehicle assignments using spreadsheets and other documents.
  • Perform quality control inspections to correct and coach any issues found.
  • Interface with customers to resolve complaints and damages resulting from installation work.
  • Perform various field technician duties as needed, including carrying and climbing a ladder when necessary.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in fiber optic or cable installation.
  • Ability to perform mandatory job site inspections to ensure employee compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and adapt to a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and last-minute changes.
  • Valid driver's license with at least 2 years of driving experience and a good driving record.
