Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe ZOS Administrator to join our team at Tata Consultancy Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, customizing, testing, implementing, documenting, and supporting independent software vendor (ISV) products on the IBM Mainframe.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Install and customize ISV products using SMP/E, ensuring successful installation and maintenance of OS and associated software products.
  2. Work with vendors to resolve problems and implement solutions.
  3. Use IBM SMP/e to receive and apply z/OS software and other related software on the IBM Mainframe.
  4. Manage USS file systems and mount points, creating, populating, securing, and troubleshooting as needed.
  5. Create and update accurate documentation for software and hardware installation/upgrades.
  6. Use IBM z/OS mainframe communications products, including VTAM, TCP/IP, and FTP.
  7. Perform problem diagnostics and resolution, monitoring system performance and tuning when required.
  8. Capable of z/OS Performance Analysis using tools such as RMF, SMF, and subsystem analysis tools.

Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience in z/OS and ISV Products installation, customization, and upgrade using SMP/E.
  • Experience working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD, Parallel Sysplex.
  • Expertise in tuning and debugging performance problems for z/OS systems.
  • Knowledge in designing CFRM structures and installing z/OS upgrades.
