Inventory Control Specialist

Maintain inventory accuracy and minimize loss by conducting daily cycle counts, implementing loss prevention procedures, and reconciling discrepancies. Provide detailed analysis of variances and recommend corrective actions. Act as a conduit of information regarding inventory issues and trends between the warehouse, Operations Manager, and Purchasing team.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and conduct daily cycle counts as prescribed by ERP.
- Audit and investigate sources of known losses.
- Monitor inventory to identify theft or shortages.
- Identify, recommend, and implement systems to minimize loss of inventory.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies as outlined in policies and procedures.
- Provide daily justification sheet to manager on variances with dollar amounts.
- Communicate and develop process enhancements as needed; perform root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and recommend process improvements.
- Work with key personnel to implement process improvements to operational procedures to optimize location and item level accuracy and maintain productivity levels.
- Research, suggest, and implement additional security measures.
- Conduct periodic testing of video surveillance systems.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to prevent theft at point of sale or inventory storage areas.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Prior experience in inventory control in a distribution setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detailed oriented and organized.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Basic Mathematical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to operate equipment: Forklift, Order Picker (Training Provided).
