Position Overview:

PeaceHealth is on the lookout for a dedicated Cybersecurity Specialist for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The compensation range for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience.


Key Responsibilities:
As a Cybersecurity Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the development, execution, and assessment of information security policies, procedures, standards, and technologies throughout PeaceHealth. Your contributions will directly impact the objectives and methodologies of the PeaceHealth Information Security Program.


In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with IT, Compliance, Legal, Privacy, and Operations teams to provide expert guidance and technical support.
  • Oversee the daily operations of key information security systems and ensure effective delivery of outcomes for significant initiatives.
  • Analyze data from various security technology sources to identify potential threats and enhance PeaceHealth's defenses.
  • Develop and implement effective defensive strategies based on public and private information analysis.
  • Assist in the automation of security responses, integrating multiple security tools for rapid incident management.


Qualifications:
To be successful in this position, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT, information security, or a related field, with at least 3 years focused on information security.
  • Preferred certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or similar.


Skills and Attributes:
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work under pressure during security incidents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Hands-on experience with common information security tools and methodologies.
  • A deep understanding of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory requirements.


Working Conditions:
This position primarily operates in an office environment with the expectation of occasional on-call support during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
