Aircraft Technician Senior Job Description

Job Summary:

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Technician Senior to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of aircraft modifications and maintenance functions.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform Maintenance and Servicing: Perform required periodic maintenance and necessary servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems, ensuring consistent performance within quoted or standard CMP time.
  2. Provide Work Direction: Provide work direction for assigned technicians, promoting high standards of quality through instruction and example setting.
  3. Act as Mechanical Team Lead: Act on behalf of the Mechanical Team Lead in their absence and assume duties and responsibilities when assigned.
  4. Coordinate with Inspection Department: Coordinate with the Inspection department to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
  5. Properly Identify and Store Customer Property: Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment, and store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely.
  6. Operate and Supervise Ground Support Equipment: Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment, such as power supply, hydraulic rigs, nitrogen filler carts, and oxygen service carts.
  7. Coordinate Aircraft Movement: Coordinate movement of aircraft as required.
  8. Assist in Training and Coordination: Assist in training new employees concerning computerized maintenance program (CMP) maintenance manuals, SRMs illustrated parts catalog (IPC) usage, flight test installations, and all maintenance of major components.

Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Use Material Tracking System: Use the material tracking system to create parts demand and to charge labor to correct work orders and item numbers.
  2. Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives: Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered.
  3. Implement Lean/Continuous Improvement: Implement and apply Lean/continuous improvement processes to all areas of responsibility.
  4. Properly Use and Maintain Company-Provided Tools: Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment.
  5. Support Aircraft Certification and Final Phase Testing: In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.

Requirements:
  1. Advanced Knowledge of Inspection and Maintenance Procedures: Advanced knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems within each aircraft product line.
  2. Advanced Knowledge of Technical Reference Materials: Advanced knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials (maintenance manuals, IPCs, Service Bulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, ADS, etc.).
  3. Working Knowledge of FAA Regulations and Company Policies: Working knowledge of the FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures.
  4. Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
