Job Summary:

Amentum is seeking a skilled HVAC Controls Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining computer-based systems that control and monitor a building's mechanical and electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain computer-based systems that control and monitor a building's mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Apply knowledge of various building trades such as electrical, mechanical, telecommunications, and information systems networks to computer-based control systems and building automation.
  • Interface with customers, architects, engineers, and contractors to install and service building automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot, fix, and update HVAC systems and associated controls.
  • Download, update, and verify software accuracy.
  • Calibrate and test HVAC systems and controls.
  • Perform preventive maintenance for HVAC Controls equipment throughout the base.

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of HVAC experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a recognized apprenticeship training program plus 4 years of experience, or military or civilian vocational training plus 4 years of experience, or 5 years of direct work-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain job-related licenses, certifications, etc. required by Federal, State, local, NASA, and Air Force standards, rules, and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of installing, troubleshooting, and replacing HVAC electronic or digital automation controls.
  • Deep understanding of the fundamentals of temperature, flow, level, and pressure instrumentation as well as calibration principles as related to Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Ability to interpret piping & instrumentation drawings, apply techniques of final control devices, and maintain instrumentation documentation for HVAC controls.
  • Experience with chiller, cooling tower, compressor, AHU, VAV, FCU, controls for commercial systems.
  • Knowledge of one or more automation software languages such as PID loops, Ladder Logic, and various Codes to perform modifications to the system logic architecture.
