Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated individual for the position of Facility Operator Trainee. This role offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits from day one, hands-on training, and a company-provided vehicle. As a trainee, you will gain the necessary skills to operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment facilities and distribution systems while working towards obtaining your Class 4 license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct scheduled inspections of treatment plants and act as the Operator in Responsible Charge for assigned systems.
- Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels, adjusting operations as needed and recording all relevant data.
- Maintain accurate records related to production, maintenance, and treatment processes, including monitoring charts and flow meters to identify equipment issues.
- Collect samples and perform essential chemical analyses in line with system requirements.
- Document and certify test results from routine laboratory tests.
- Address service orders related to customer inquiries and distribution or collection system issues.
- Be available for overtime and on-call duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Water/Wastewater Certification is not mandatory; however, a Class 6 water license or higher is advantageous.
- A valid U.S. Driver's License is essential.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
- Excellent customer service aptitude.
- Capability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a multi-tasking atmosphere.
Career Development:
- As a Facility Operator Trainee, you will be expected to obtain a Class 4 water license within 18 months of employment.
- Progression opportunities exist based on licensing and experience.
Working Conditions:
- The role may involve sedentary work, requiring the ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally.
- Travel to various Aqua work sites may be necessary, with occasional overnight stays.
