Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for teaching and caring for a designated group of children, implementing a developmentally appropriate program that addresses the cognitive, emotional, and social needs of each child in a safe, healthy, and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach and care for children using techniques in accordance with NAEYC Developmentally Appropriate Practices, NAEYC Program and Classroom Standards, NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct, and DHS requirements for child care teachers STARS.
  • Exchange daily information with families concerning the needs and progress of each child as well as biannual family conferences.
  • Use appropriate tools to assess individual development and create lesson plans accordingly.
  • Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities and materials with increasing difficulty, complexity, and challenge as the children develop.
  • Provide nurturance, care, and emotional support while complying with Health Department, Department of Human Services, and USDA-CACFP regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Childhood Development, or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development plus Oklahoma Directors Credential and Oklahoma Certified Trainers Credential, and continued progress towards Bachelor's degree in ECE/CD.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience at The Children's Place at INTEGRIS Health with Bachelor's Degree, or 5 years of experience at The Children's Place with AA Degree.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
