Ice Skating Coach

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Ice Skating Instructor to lead and teach basic ice-skating skills, figure skating skills, and/or hockey skills for our learn-to-skate classes at the City of Monona's RiverRink outdoor ice skating rink.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and lead classes with an emphasis on safety and fun
  • Set up for classes and help with clean-up after classes
  • Track and evaluate student progress and performance as needed
  • Attend in-house training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must be skilled at ice skating
  • Must have knowledge or experience with the organization and supervision of skating school classes
  • Must have experience working with children ages 3 and above, children with special needs, and adults
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work standing or skating for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work in outdoor conditions, including cold, wind, snow, and sleet
  • Must have the ability to see in order to supervise skaters, along with the ability to effectively communicate instructions to students
