Job Title: Ice Skating Attendant

Join the City of Monona's Parks and Recreation team as an Ice Skating Attendant at the RiverRink outdoor ice skating rink and Below Deck indoor concession stand. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional customer service, maintain a safe and welcoming environment, and ensure a fun and enjoyable experience for all patrons.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide friendly and courteous service to patrons, including greeting and assisting with admissions, rentals, and concessions.
  • Supervise the Below Deck Concession Stand, enforcing rules and maintaining safe and orderly conduct.
  • Assist patrons with ice skate rental needs and provide direction in the event of an emergency.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks, such as shoveling or sweeping light snow off walkways and general cleaning of the concession stand.
  • Provide verbal and written reports to the recreation supervisor and maintenance crew.
  • Report acts of vandalism and/or equipment needing repair.
  • Operate cash register, accept payments, and make accurate change.
  • Take concession orders, prepare, store, and serve food in accordance with established health regulations.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in employee training sessions as required.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 14 years of age.
  • Must have experience in cash handling, including knowledge of basic addition and subtraction.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Working Conditions:

This is a seasonal part-time position, beginning in November 2024 and ending in March 2025. However, continued employment during the spring, summer, and fall is also possible. Rink attendants can work a flexible schedule of 10-30 hours per week, including evening and weekend hours.
