Anatomic Pathology Assistant

Kaleida Health is seeking a highly skilled Pathologists Assistant to join our team in Buffalo, NY. As a key member of our Anatomic Pathology department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our gross surgical cutting room, frozen section room, and tissue procurement activities.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the work activities of residents, students, Anatomic Pathology Assistants, pathology fellows, and other personnel involved in accessioning, processing specimens, slides, and tissue for procurement.
- Assist pathologists in gross Anatomic Pathology dissection activities and perform autopsies as needed.
- Maintain inventory levels within the laboratory and ensure efficient workflow.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- BA or BS in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biological or Chemical Science required.
- MS in Health Science or Pathology Assistant preferred.
- 1 year of experience in a healthcare environment with laboratory, autopsy, or surgical involvement preferred.
- Pathology Assistant License upon hire required.
- ASCP Certification obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Competitive hourly rate: $48.94-$61.98 per hour.
