Job Summary:

Kaleida Health is seeking a highly skilled Pathologists Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing and/or directly assisting others in department with assigned tasks and/or duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages the work activities of the gross surgical cutting room, frozen section room, and tissue procurement activities.
  • Assists the pathologist in all associated gross Anatomic Pathology dissection activities and in performing autopsies.
  • Maintains inventory levels within the laboratory.

Requirements:

  • BA or BS Medical laboratory technology, biological or chemical science required.
  • MS - Masters of Science in Health Science or Pathology Assistant required.
  • 1 year of experience in a health care environment with laboratory, autopsy or surgical involvement preferred.
  • Pathology Assistant License upon hire required.
  • ASCP Certification obtained within 90 days of hire.

Work Environment:

This is a per diem position working evenings with varied shifts.
