Position Objective: The technician is responsible for repairing material handling equipment, transmissions, and other subassemblies according to established specifications, utilizing hand tools and power tools. The technician will disassemble units to assess the condition, movement, or alignment of parts, either visually or with gauges. Defective parts will be replaced using appropriate tools, followed by reassembly and operational testing of the unit.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Arriving at work on time and checking in with the dispatcher for daily assignments.
  • Traveling to customer locations in a company-provided service vehicle equipped with necessary tools and parts.
  • Conducting routine scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment (e.g., oil changes, filter changes, pressure checks).
  • Disassembling engines and repairing or replacing defective components such as carburetors and generators as needed.
  • Repairing frame dents, welding tears, and reassembling frames.
  • Replacing and adjusting subassemblies such as forks, transmissions, brakes, and drive chains to meet specifications.
  • Listening to engine sounds, examining vehicle frames, and advising customers on the condition and necessary repairs.
  • Connecting test panels to engines to check generator output, ignition timing, and other performance indicators.
  • Utilizing electrical testing equipment for electric forklifts.
  • Reporting any safety concerns or customer issues to the Service Manager.
  • Tracking daily repair time to ensure accurate customer invoicing.
