About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician II, you will play a critical role in supporting the Operations Maintenance team in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building.

You will have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, as well as develop your skills in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems related to Material Handling Equipment (MHE).

In addition to your technical expertise, you will mentor junior technicians to help them grow in their roles and contribute to a positive working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure a Safe Working Environment: Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures and completing preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
  • Troubleshoot Electrical and Mechanical Problems: Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more.
  • Maintain Positive Working Relationships: Maintain positive working relationships across all of the Amazon Operations facility and track and store department inventory.
  • Meet Physical Demands: Move up to 49lbs and stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Travel Requirements: 50% or more travel requirement pre-launch to complete various building launch and training tasks.
Requirements
  • Microsoft Office Products and Applications: 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: High school or equivalent diploma.
  • Flexible Schedule: Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates or Higher Degree: Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
  • Automated Conveyor Systems and Controls: 2+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • Material Handling Equipment Repair: 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment.
  • Predictive and Preventative Maintenance: 2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Blueprint and Electrical Schematic Reading: 1+ year of knowledge with blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
  • Electrical and Electronic Principles: 1+ year of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles.
  • Apprenticeship or Equivalent Experience: 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
  • Material Handling Equipment Safety Standards: Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards.
  • Project Management: Project Management experience.
  • Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS): Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Robotic Operation and Maintenance: Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting Basic Input and Output Functions: Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.
