POSITION TITLE: Automotive Service Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Service

REPORTS TO: Service Manager / Shop Foreman

POSITION SUMMARY: This role is dedicated to diagnosing, servicing, and repairing client vehicles to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts maintenance and repairs on client vehicles.
  • Utilizes diagnostic tools to identify vehicle issues.
  • Communicates automotive repairs and concerns effectively while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Plans repair processes using manuals, charts, and personal expertise.
  • Tests components and systems for functionality.
  • Performs essential vehicle maintenance tasks, including oil changes, fluid checks, and tire rotations.
  • Replaces and repairs components such as brake pads, wheel bearings, and sensors.
  • Engages in routine maintenance and general mechanical tasks on vehicles.
  • Prepares for additional certifications as required.
  • Participates in hands-on training opportunities.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace in the repair shop.
  • Upholds a professional appearance at all times.
  • Completes other related tasks as directed by management.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:

  • This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED), or one to three months of relevant experience and/or training, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Required certifications:
    1. Valid Driver's License.
    2. ASE Certifications.
  • Proficient in computer systems: Reynolds and Reynolds DMS, Google Workplace (GMAIL, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Meet).
  • Other necessary skills include:
    1. Experience in automotive and engine repair or formal mechanic training.
    2. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and provide excellent customer service.
    3. Capable of reading, interpreting, and recording data accurately.
    4. Ability to perform maintenance tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    5. Commitment to high standards and excellence.
    6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    7. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
    8. Capacity to manage priorities and workflow effectively.
    9. Attention to detail is crucial.
