The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human services, with a minimum of one year of experience working with vulnerable populations. A positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential for success in this position.

In terms of salary, we offer a competitive package ranging from $45,000 to $60,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. If you are passionate about making a difference in your community and possess the necessary skills and qualities, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and orient new participants, complete initial intakes, and explain program routines and behavioral expectations
  • Provide a consistent presence in the facility, ensuring physical, emotional, and psychological safety
  • Prepare meal supplies, assist with serving meals, and oversee after-meal clean up
  • Assist participants in developing life skills, such as using showers, laundry facilities, and maintaining the environment
  • Support residents in following through on established goals, check-in with participants after off-site appointments, and document progress and barriers to success
  • Ensure facility is clean, well maintained, and support participants in completing chores in a timely and efficient manner
  • Keep supervisor apprised of issues, problems, complaints, and/or concerns expressed by residents
  • Document services provided, maintain sign-in logs, and other record-keeping processes

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Human Services, social or behavioral sciences, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum one-year experience serving people experiencing homelessness, living with substance use disorders, and/or mental illness
  • Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn and grow
  • Well-developed listening skills
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred, but not required
  • Successful completion of a live scan background clearance
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed approaches to service delivery
  • Strong computer skills and ability to become proficient with database software
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently

Work Environment:

This role involves working in a moderate noise level environment with frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
