Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Traffic Operations Specialist to join our team at Grace Pacific Corp. As a Traffic Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic on our construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Traffic Control: Perform traffic control duties, including flagging, setting up and maintaining road closures, and selecting the appropriate signs and equipment for specific closures.
  • Shop Work: Perform shop work as required, including preparing orders, cleaning and repairing equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Equipment Management: Deliver, pick up, and position traffic control devices as directed, and ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and inventoried.
  • Electronic Systems: Program message centers and portable electronic signal systems as required.
  • Documentation: Ensure that all documents are correctly completed and turned in for all job assignments, with a focus on maintaining accurate records of equipment usage.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Consistently complete pre-trip forms and alert supervisors or dispatchers of any vehicle-related issues.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Identify and determine when equipment should be refurbished or replaced, and alert supervisors or warehouse foremen accordingly.
  • Customer Service: Conduct oneself in a professional and courteous manner towards customers and the public.
  • Temporary Fencing: Install temporary fencing and dust control screens as required.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, including promoting awareness of and following company and general safety policies.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Skills: Mechanical ability and knowledge of tools, basic math skills, good reading skills, and ability to read maps.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds regularly, and perform multiple dexterity tasks, climbing, crouching, and bending.
  • Availability: Available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime, and willing to travel to neighboring islands as needed.
