Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert-level support for SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery for our database infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve urgent production database issues in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
  • Contribute to the design, deployment, and support of database infrastructure, ensuring reliability, robustness, and security to meet both current and future business demands.
  • Ensure that technology and security controls are properly designed and implemented to meet compliance and regulatory requirements, while optimizing database platforms for performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Assist in setting company-wide database standards and best practices, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Foster cross-team collaboration and remove obstacles to ensure effective teamwork, driving business outcomes and delivering exceptional results.
  • Establish and implement key performance indicators (KPIs), objectives and key results (OKRs), service level agreements (SLAs), and metrics to monitor and enhance operational performance.
  • Oversee incident, problem, and change management processes, ensuring seamless execution and minimizing disruptions.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator, with a strong background in performance troubleshooting and monitoring within production environments using High Availability solutions.
  • Proficiency in managing SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, with expertise in implementing and maintaining SQL Server, including security protocols, backup/restoration procedures, logging, reporting, and recovery strategies.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure seamless collaboration across global teams, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A team-oriented attitude with a commitment to achieving shared goals, with a high attention to detail and a focus on thorough validation of work to ensure successful deployments.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes, with the ability to perform under pressure in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Adept at documenting work in user stories and tickets, and creating knowledgebase articles for technical documentation.
