Position Overview

Gentiva Hospice is seeking a Registered Nurse - Clinical Manager to lead our hospice clinical team. This role involves direct reporting to the Executive Director, Administrator, or Senior Patient Care Manager. You will oversee the daily operations of your designated hospice site, manage the clinical components of the hospice program, and ensure the delivery of high-quality care to our patients.

  • Overseeing site operations in the absence of senior management.
  • Supervising clinical, administrative, and recordkeeping functions.
  • Responding promptly and compassionately to phone referrals and inquiries.
  • Participating in on-call nursing schedules and providing direct skilled nursing care in patients' homes.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse with at least an Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. State-specific requirements may apply.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of direct patient care experience in a clinical environment is required.
  • At least one year of management or supervisory experience is necessary.
  • Two or more years of experience in hospice or home care settings are essential.
  • Current nursing license in the state of employment is mandatory.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid nursing license in the state of employment.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Current automobile insurance and a valid driver's license.

Personal Attributes:

  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of terminally ill patients and their families, both before and after the patient's passing. Ability to adapt to various tasks while maintaining efficiency and composure. Strong communication skills across diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Capability to influence opinions and attitudes regarding care practices. Evidence of patient advocacy and responsible conduct in the workplace, along with maturity, cooperation, and tactfulness in interactions with colleagues and hospice team members.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of the needs of terminally ill patients and their families, alongside knowledge of hospice care principles. Proficient patient assessment skills, excellent oral and written communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of managed care principles and regulatory guidelines (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid).
