The role of a Litigation Paralegal at AppleOne is to provide expert support to our clients, delivering high-quality service and demonstrating a commitment to integrity and excellence. As a seasoned professional with significant litigation experience, you will be responsible for various legal administrative tasks, working closely with attorneys, staff, and peers to ensure the smooth operation of case management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize, manage, and follow through on multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and exceptional results.
  • Communicate effectively, courteously, and professionally with clients, attorneys, staff, and peers, fostering strong relationships and trust.
  • Collaborate with various firm-wide departments to handle multiple responsibilities, including case opening, conflict checks, billing, training, records, and more.
  • Work knowledgeably with the rules of procedure governing courts, filing pleadings in compliance with court requirements, and assisting with trial preparation, including courtroom readiness and attendance at trials.
  • Conduct investigations, engage in legal research, develop draft pleadings, prepare motions for review by an assigned attorney, and assist in discovery.
  • Liaise with designated outside counsel and their paralegal staff, providing critical support and guidance.
  • Advise the attorney on the priority needs and status of assigned cases, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Prepare draft affidavits of documents, maintain case correspondence and document files, and contact court administrators and regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Write memoranda to summarize research results, cite-check and edit legal documents, and maintain documents, transcripts, and work product databases.
  • Organize and prepare exhibit lists and privilege logs, coordinate work with outside document/litigation vendors, and handle large and complex document productions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, with proficiency in drafting and proofreading correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • An associate's degree in legal studies or a Paralegal Certificate.
  • A minimum of five years of law firm experience, with expertise working with multiple attorneys.
  • Experience working in a mid to large-sized firm, handling multiple responsibilities, and collaborating with various firm-wide departments.
  • Familiarity with the rules of procedure governing courts and the ability to file pleadings in compliance with court requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
