Compensation:

$29.15 or $31.56 per hour based on educational qualifications (additional $0.50 for bilingual candidates) - Union representation included.

Work Schedule:

40 hours per week, with scheduled breaks during the academic year.

Program Overview:

NeighborImpact's Head Start initiative is a holistic early education program designed to support children and families in Central Oregon. Our approach combines high-quality pre-kindergarten education with vital services such as health, nutrition, and family support. We aim to enhance social skills, school readiness, and the overall well-being of children aged three to five.

Key Responsibilities:

The Lead Early Childhood Education Advocate plays a crucial role in our Head Start program, focusing on the educational advancement of young children while empowering parents as their children's primary educators. Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing developmentally appropriate curricula.
  • Creating a safe and engaging classroom environment.
  • Delivering instruction both in the classroom and during home visits.
  • Utilizing the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework to prepare children for future educational success.
  • Collaborating with families to establish and achieve personalized goals for their children.
  • Monitoring child development and facilitating smooth transitions to kindergarten.
  • Maintaining regular communication with families and coordinating additional services to support comprehensive child and family development.

Qualifications:

Applicants should meet the following criteria:
  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with at least 35 college quarter credit hours in relevant subjects.
  • One year of experience as a lead teacher in a preschool setting.
  • Experience in social services or home visiting is preferred.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, including 120 training hours or 11 college credit hours in relevant fields within 18 months of hire.
  • Certification in Pediatric CPR/First Aid is required within 60 days of hire.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance.
  • Access to reliable transportation is essential.
