Join Our Team as a Surgical Support Technician


We are seeking dedicated Surgical Support Technicians to enhance our Operating Room team at Nuvance Health. This role involves providing essential assistance during surgical procedures and ensuring a smooth workflow in the Operating Room.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Facilitate patient transportation to the Operating Room.
  2. Conduct thorough room turnovers to maintain a sterile environment.
  3. Prepare and organize surgical instruments and equipment for procedures.
  4. Assist nursing staff and surgeons with patient positioning and lifting.
  5. Deliver specimens to the laboratory and run errands as needed.
  6. Order necessary X-rays and nourishment for patients daily.
  7. Ensure clean and unobstructed pathways and scrub areas.
  8. Operate sterilization equipment to maintain hygiene standards.
  9. Restock supplies in various non-specialty areas including prep carts and holding areas.
  10. Perform surgical hand scrubs and maintain sterile fields during selected procedures.
  11. Adhere to all compliance regulations related to the position.
  12. Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent and demonstrate the ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in roles related to housekeeping or patient transportation, is preferred.


Physical Requirements:

This position requires significant physical effort, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and exposure to various environmental factors typical in a healthcare setting.


Compensation:

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, starting at $16+/hour, with additional differentials for evening, weekend, and night shifts.
