Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician or Histotechnologist to join our Renal Biopsy Laboratory team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing specimens and performing technical procedures to create high-quality microscopic slide preparations for diagnostic and prognostic analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare specimens and perform technical procedures to create microscopic slide preparations
  • Conduct accessioning, specimen processing, and microtomy techniques
  • Perform routine Hematoxylin and Eosin staining, special stains, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemical staining
  • Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends as needed
  • Collaborate with other laboratory teams to ensure efficient and accurate testing

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Coursework in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology
  • Histology Technician certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate of a NAACLS accredited program
  • Ability to accommodate scheduling adjustments, off shifts, holidays, on-call, and weekend work assignments
  • Histotechnologist (HTL or HTLi) certification through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) required at start date
