Role Summary

Position Overview: The Rehabilitation Specialist is responsible for delivering therapeutic interventions to individuals experiencing physical impairments. This role involves educating patients, their families, and healthcare team members about the significance of rehabilitation therapy. The specialist will also collaborate with medical professionals and support staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Experience Required: A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in rehabilitation therapy, with a preference for experience in a hospital environment.

Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy is essential.

Licensure and Credentials: Must hold a valid Physical Therapist license in the state of New Jersey and be CPR certified.

Essential Skills: Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting is required. Strong interpersonal communication skills are crucial.

Interaction with Others: This role necessitates regular communication with both internal and external stakeholders, requiring a high degree of tact, discretion, and persuasive skills to gather information and facilitate cooperation.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position may involve part-time oversight of a small team, while primarily engaging in similar tasks as team members.

Independence in Role: The Rehabilitation Specialist will operate autonomously, adhering to established protocols and providing updates to the immediate supervisor as necessary.

Work Schedule: Part-time, totaling 48 hours bi-weekly, with shifts scheduled from Tuesday to Saturday.
