Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Residential Counselor to join our team at Bridge Over Troubled Waters. As a key member of our residential continuum of programs, you will be responsible for engaging participants and managing the milieu in a safe, welcoming, and therapeutic community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to engage residents in conversation, activities, and daily life skills.
  • Conduct regular rounds and checks of bedrooms and community areas to ensure youth safety and well-being.
  • Plan and conduct recreational and daily life activities to promote resident engagement and community building.
  • Provide advocacy, referrals, and supportive counseling to residents as needed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of service plans with residents.
  • Monitor and ensure the safety of residents, implementing crisis intervention as necessary.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience working with youth ages 18-24 in housing management, job development, community relations, substance abuse, or recreational counseling.
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, Social Work, or a related field (strongly preferred).
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and cultural groups.
  • Comfort and confidence working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
