Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Residential Counselor to join our team at Bridge Over Troubled Waters. As a Residential Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and success of our youth residents. Your primary responsibility will be to engage participants and manage the milieu in one of our residential continuum of programs, including the Welcome Center, Emergency Residence, or Transitional Living Programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resident Engagement: Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, engaging them in conversation to build rapport and encourage participation in Bridge programs. Monitor residents' activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Program Management: Plan and conduct recreational and daily life activities to maintain a safe, welcoming, and therapeutic community. Ensure the program is clean, organized, and presentable.
  • Administrative Management: Attend and participate in required program meetings, including weekly supervision and staff meetings. Manage daily facilities, including meals, bedrooms, and household standards of cleanliness.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience working with youth ages 18-24 in housing management, job development, community relations, substance abuse, or recreational counseling.
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, Social Work, or a related field, strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no car required).
