About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at Tailwaggers Pet Food and Supplies. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to the dogs in our boarding and daycare facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide daily feeding, exercise, and socialization for the dogs under your care.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in the boarding area, including regular cleaning of kennels and play areas.
  • Monitor the health and behavior of the dogs, reporting any concerns to the supervisor or on-site veterinarian.
  • Administer medications and special care as directed by dog owners or veterinary staff.
  • Follow established protocols for handling and restraining dogs, ensuring their safety and the safety of staff.
  • Interact with dog owners, providing updates on their dogs' well-being and addressing any special requests.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of dog supplies, ensuring availability of necessary items.
  • Provide basic grooming services such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming.
  • Participate in training and workshops to enhance knowledge of dog care and behavior.
Requirements
  • Must have experience in Daycare and/or Boarding.
  • Must be an experienced Veterinary Technician.
  • Strong love and understanding of various dog breeds and behaviors.
  • Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically capable of lifting and carrying dogs and supplies.
  • Knowledge of basic dog first aid and CPR is required.
