Job Summary

We are seeking a credentialed veterinary technician to join our team. As a veterinary technician in our emergency department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our veterinary team, and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Treat each patient with compassion and care, providing exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Perform basic to intermediate nursing care tasks, patient monitoring, and treatments.
  • Use critical thinking and leadership skills to carry out patient treatment plans in coordination with the veterinary team.
  • Administer medications, monitor patient parameters, and perform diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Participate in patient rounds, contribute to the development of treatment plans, and collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Coach and guide veterinary assistants and veterinary nurses to perform clinical tasks and maintain standards of care.
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the location of the VEG practice.
  • 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role, with experience in emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with the veterinary team and communicate with customers.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and lift up to 25 kg on own and support up to 40 kg with assistance.
