The Construction Loan Funding Manager is responsible for overseeing the progress and funding of construction loans. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of construction documents and inspection reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of analysts, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Perform regular audits of staff work, reviewing documentation and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in construction loan administration.
  • Manage the onboarding, monitoring, and tracking of construction loans on Construct.
  • Build and maintain relationships with lending staff.
  • Collect and review construction documents, including specs, plans, drawings, cost breakdowns, and construction contracts.
  • Review documentation based on loan approval and/or loan policy.
  • Engage with and review third-party inspection/progress reports and photographic documentation.
  • Review and approve builder profiles to determine experience and knowledge of industry standards and code compliance.
  • Review payment applications and schedules of values to determine appropriate draw requests.
  • Review certificates of insurance, including builder's risk coverage, general liability, and workman's compensation.
  • Review property surveys for boundaries, pre-slab, and as-built to comply with easements and restrictions, plans, and specs.
  • Review final loan documentation, including unconditional/conditional waivers and releases on final payment, affidavits of completion, and certificates of occupancy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a college or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in the field or a related area, with specialized training pertinent to credit and loan processing activities.
  • Advanced experience, knowledge, and training in all bank lending and operational activities and terminology.
  • Advanced knowledge of title policies and related loan regulations, such as RESPA, HMDA, and other bank lending policies on loans to directors.
  • Advanced skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, mainframe computer system, word processing, spreadsheet, and specialty software programs.
  • Advanced math skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior managers, customers, and peers.
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under general supervision while performing duties.
