Immunology Research Scientist

Versiti Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and innovative researcher to join our team as an Immunology Research Scientist. As a key member of our research community, you will have the opportunity to drive vigorous independent research in the field of immunology.
Research Focus: We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in autoimmunity, lymphocyte biology, innate immunity, and cellular therapies. Our collaborative team of immunologists includes experts in areas such as autoimmunity, B, T, and NK cell biology, and immune regulation.
Responsibilities:
- Define and implement a fundable research program
- Obtain funding from sources outside of the organization
- Hold a faculty appointment at the Associate Professor Level at a local University/Medical School
- Maintain an active scientific publications record
- Contribute to growth and viability of our Science and Technology programs
- Mentor pre/post doctoral Fellows and Research Scientists
- Have supervisory and management responsibilities within the laboratory group
- Train, direct, and mentor staff within the laboratory group
- Direct laboratory and Research Staff Meetings
- Adhere to organizational, Bio-safety, NRC, and OSHA procedures and regulations
- Grant administration and budget responsibilities
- May prepare and/or authorize requisitions for ordering supplies and equipment
Qualifications:
- M.D. or Ph.D. required
- Established track record of scientific accomplishment, as evidenced by consistent, high-quality contributions to the scientific literature
- Demonstrated success in sustaining extramural funding to support a majority of his/her research program
- Recognized impact on his/her scientific field, as evidenced by invitations to speak at University seminars, national and international scientific meetings, and symposia
- Participation in peer review of grants and manuscripts
- History of successful mentoring of post-doctoral fellows and/or graduate students
- Eligible to hold a University faculty appointment at the level of Associate Professor
