Job Description: As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting healthcare providers in delivering high-quality care. This includes performing vital sign assessments, coordinating medication administration, documenting patient information, and preparing evaluation rooms and procedure rooms for patient encounters.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily vital sign assessments to monitor patient health and detect any potential issues.
  • Document patient information accurately and efficiently in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with cardiologists to coordinate medication administration for procedures.
  • Work closely with surgeons to manage post-operative pain medication.
  • Utilize Athena to monitor provider workload and allocate resources effectively.
  • Travel to other offices as required to provide comprehensive care.
  • Communicate patient information to healthcare providers before evaluation, ensuring informed decision-making.
  • Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring them from procedure tables to wheelchairs and from wheelchairs to vehicles.
  • Prepare evaluation rooms and procedure rooms for patient encounters, ensuring a smooth workflow.
  • Enter patient data and notes into EMR software to maintain accurate records.
  • Scan patient paperwork and upload it to EMR, promoting digital documentation and accessibility.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
  • The ability to quickly and accurately document patient information into EMR as dictated by providers.
  • Proficiency in computer and phone systems to navigate multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, colleagues, and patients.
  • Navigate multiple tasks while maintaining professionalism and productivity.
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare regulatory policies (e.g., HIPAA) to ensure compliance.
  • High integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive patient information.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and positively influence others.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is essential for our team's success.
