Job Summary

As a Food and Beverage Expert at Target, you'll play a key role in providing a fresh and full shopping experience for our guests. You'll work with our team to ensure product is fresh, in stock, available, and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver an exceptional guest experience, prioritizing their needs over tasks
  • Uphold and maintain the execution of Food and Beverage Standards
  • Execute Food and Beverage processes, including FDC/RDC replenishment, pulls, stocking, zoning, in-stocks routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, Item Removal, signing, and backstock
  • Follow all food safety requirements and use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales
  • Partner with Direct Store Delivery (DSD) distributors to proactively set and maintain DSD POGs, transitions, and backroom space
  • Ensure accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders with DSD distributors according to best practices
  • Locate and identify damaged, recalled, or expired items and process according to best practice
  • Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests and observing to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact
  • Follow body language and verbal clues to tailor your approach and engage with guests in a genuine way
  • Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store and specific to your area to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience
  • Thank the guest in a genuine way and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target
  • Execute all federal, state, and local adult beverage laws as they apply to your business
  • Properly handle environmentally sensitive items when breaks and spills occur
  • Appropriately use and care for in-store and personal protective equipment; follow equipment control guidelines
  • Always demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU), and Drive-up (DU) and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older (Bakery Only)
  • Previous food or grocery experience preferred, but not required
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members
  • Learn and adapt to current technology needs
  • Work both independently and with a team
  • Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
  • Attention to detail and follow multi-step processes
  • Accurately handle cash register operations
