Job Summary

The Quality Inspector reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for ensuring that parts and processes meet the requirements of operational work instructions, customer specifications, and drawings. This role is for a weekend shift, working 36 hours with a 4-hour bonus, totaling 40 hours, and includes a 25% shift differential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Approve Incoming Materials/Parts: Verify that incoming materials and parts meet work instructions, drawings, specifications, and conduct visual and measurement tests to ensure quality.
  • Inspect In-Process & Final Production Parts: Confirm that in-process and final production parts meet work instructions, specifications, and conduct visual and measurement tests to ensure quality.
  • Maintain Records and Testing Information: Record testing and information, such as number of defective products, dimensional results, etc., in accordance with Quality procedures.
  • Operate and Maintain Measurement Equipment: Follow operating instructions and calibration requirements to ensure measurement equipment is functioning properly.
  • Complete DSQR Training and Certification: Meet customer requirements by completing DSQR training and earning certification.
  • Use Inspection Equipment and Automated Systems: Perform part inspections using inspection equipment and automated systems.
  • Verify First Piece and Approve Parts: Verify the first piece and approve parts to be processed.
  • Communicate Inspection Results: Communicate the condition of inspected parts verbally and/or in writing.
  • Utilize Electronic Databases: Submit non-conformances or obtain work instructions using electronic databases.
  • Perform Administrative Duties: Complete administrative tasks consistent with departmental practices.
  • Follow Safety Policies and Procedures: Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School diploma or GED with excellent working knowledge of trigonometry.
  • Experience: Minimum two years of experience in manufacturing, including operational inspection or supporting quality inspection utilizing hand-held gauges.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge and ability to apply GD&T, DSQR/DPRV experience preferred, ability to read blueprints and instructions, and basic computer skills including data entry.
  • Customer and Industry Specifications: Ability to read and interpret customer and industry specifications.
