Job Description

A leading automotive supplier is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join their team at their plant located in the Dayton area. The successful candidate will have a stable and progressive background working as plant-level Manufacturing Engineering Management, plant-level Technical Management, or similar within a Tier I Automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliverables Management: Ensure timely completion of RFQ, ECN, CPOD, PLEX, QAD, CDR, and Prolink deliverables.
  • Research and Development: Research new technologies to improve production performance and maintain tooling/equipment standards for the plant.
  • Technical Support: Supervise technical support to manufacturing to ensure all tools, equipment, and processes meet requirements.
  • Project Management: Supervise support to PDT teams on manufacturing feasibility, cost, safety, and product design.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure new or transferred tools/equipment meet OSHA and CLIENT safety standards and provide technical support to resolve customer quality issues.
  • Capital Planning: Provide detailed information for quoting new business and/or engineering changes, including capital, start-up costs, and labor when required.
  • Capacity Planning: Maintain plant capacity data base and provide capital project plan and forecast for budgeting process.
  • Project Management: Manage capital jobs for cost and timing and create/review all PAR's.
  • Process Improvement: Review and plan process improvement activities for potential cost improvements.
Qualifications:
  • Education: BS/BA or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented, union environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentation planning and delivery skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with project planning or program management expertise.
  • Experience: Experience overseeing and directing a maintenance department within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
